About The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series developed by Frank Darabont for AMC. The series is based on the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard.

The story begins with sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes waking from a coma to discover that society has collapsed following an outbreak that causes the dead to return as walkers. Rick searches for his family while encountering other survivors and gradually becoming part of a larger group.

As the series progresses, the survivors move through different locations and communities while facing walkers, hostile groups, resource shortages and conflicts within their own communities. Their priorities gradually shift from simply surviving each day to protecting settlements and building a new society.

The series explores survival, leadership, loyalty, family, relationships, morality and the consequences of decisions made when the normal institutions of society have disappeared.
